SU311 - See our Sunday session at the International ATD Conference
On Sunday, May 22 from 3-4 pm local time in Denver, come see Jennifer Naughton (ATD), Bill Rothwell (Penn State), and Cheryl Lasse (SkillDirector).
SU311 - Planning Your Career Using ATD Competencies and the Career Navigator
People who have a career plan are at an advantage compared with those who don't. That's because people with a career plan have identified a target and know how to build their competencies for the job they have or the job they want. Using ATD's Competency Model for the talent development field as the foundation, this session will focus on how you can conduct career planning for yourself and your talent development team. It also covers how you can leverage ATD's valuable member benefit-the ATD Career Navigator tool-to help you create learning plans. The first half of this session will center on a career development model to guide career planning and how to apply it. The second half will provide a hands-on review of ATD's Career Navigator to allow you to pinpoint your skills gaps and identify targeted ATD member resources to help build your talent development competencies and careers.
Application on the Job:
Conduct career planning for yourself and your talent development team.
Frame and discuss career-related issues with peers and colleagues.
Use the ATD Career Navigator to create talent development–related learning action plans with targeted resources to close key skills gaps.
